Sample math

Typical owner-operator costs, not yours. Your real numbers come with the free checks.

Sample uses national averages — full checks use your truck’s real numbers.

Quick math on national averages: $5.10/gal diesel, 7.5 MPG, ~$0.81/mi fixed + maintenance, dry-van average market rate. Tolls not included. Full checks use your truck, a current diesel benchmark, route miles, deadhead, toll estimates, pay rules, and fixed bills.

Straight answers

Questions owner-operators ask.

Does Backhaul find loads?

No. Load boards find loads. Backhaul checks the load you already found and shows whether to take it, counter, or pass.

Where do the numbers come from?

A full check starts with your truck profile and the broker offer. The estimate combines your costs with route miles, deadhead, a current diesel benchmark, and toll estimates. After the run, closeout uses the payment received, actual miles, recorded load expenses, truck costs, and pay rules to save actual profit. The estimate and actual stay on the load.

Who can see my numbers?

Only you. Your rates, costs, and profit stay in your account — brokers and load boards never see them.

What if I don't know my cost per mile?

Setup builds an editable starting profile from your truck and monthly bills. If you already know your numbers, enter them and Backhaul uses them on every check.

Is there an iPhone or Android app?

There isn't a separate App Store or Google Play download yet. Backhaul works in your phone's browser today, and you can add it to your home screen so it opens like an app.

What does it cost, and can I cancel?

Your first 3 load checks are free with no card upfront — if a check doesn't go through, it doesn't count. Founder Solo starts at $19/month and Small Fleet at $99/month. Both are month to month, so you can cancel anytime.
